Somatic therapy takes a holistic approach and includes your mind, body, and emotions in the healing process. Somatic therapy uses the mind-body connection as a tool for learning, healing, and growth.
When physical, mental, and/or emotional traumas occur, they can prevent the mind and body from working together and can show up in our posture, physical tension, nervous system responses, or chronic pain.
Somatic therapy helps us process painful past experiences and develop new ways of feeling, thinking, and responding.

Many traditional therapy approaches have viewed neurodivergence as a disorder to be "fixed." I strive to offer neurodivergent-affirming therapy that honors and respects our different experiences and needs, centers client choice and autonomy, embraces neurodivergent communication styles, and comes from a strengths-based lens.
-
Common therapy goals that I work on with late-identified neurodivergent clients include: identity integration, addressing internalized ableism and shame, sensory and nervous system care, building self-advocacy skills, addressing trauma, and exploring and embracing what feels authentic and joyful to you.

The first few sessions will be about getting to know you! We’ll build trust, create a positive therapeutic relationship, discuss your needs, and create a plan to reach your goals.
After that, sessions will start with a brief check in and then we’ll choose what feels most important to you to address that day.
Sessions include a mix of traditional talk therapy with experiential, body-based techniques to strengthen the mind-body connection and promote healing and growth.
Some of the techniques we may incorporate in our sessions include body sensation awareness, breathing techniques, movement exercises, relaxation techniques, and developing body-based skills for processing emotions and shifting nervous system responses.

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
